Springfield – Aaron Reye Jenkins, 26, of Springfield, passed away Wednesday October 4, 2017. Born in Springfield to Will Jenkins and Sha-Nee Blatch, he was a lifelong area resident. Aaron enjoyed watching sports on TV, especially rooting on the Boston Celtics and loved listening to music. Aaron loved his family dearly and will be missed by his mother, Sha-Nee of Springfield; his daughter who meant the world to him, Serenity Jackson; step-father Harvey Naylor; maternal grandparents, Gloria Blatch and William Blatch and his wife Carmen; paternal grandparents, Pearl Jenkins and the late Will Jenkins; maternal great-grandmother, Mildred Jenkins; his aunts, Angela Henderson, Betty Agin, Sabrina Jenkins, Laurene Jenkins, Ethel Walton, Diane Washington, and Melvine Alexander; his uncles, Christopher Bacote (Kim), Ezran Blatch, Cedric Blatch, Chase Alexander, Walter Jenkins, Waverly Jenkins, Leon Jenkins, Darrell Jenkins, and by many dear relatives and close friends. Aaron was predeceased by his maternal great- grandmother, Joan Blatch, as well as his uncles Eddie Jenkins, and Arthur Jenkins. Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Thursday October 12th from 10:00 am – 12:00 noon at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow, MA followed by a 12:00 noon service in the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Bay St., Springfield.
