Janet E. Ainsworth

Chicopee – Janet Elizabeth (Flaro) Ainsworth, 85, passed away peacefully at Willimansett Center East on May 17, 2017. She was born in Springfield to the late William P. and Clotilda M. (Mickle) Flaro. She was a 1949 graduate of Cathedral High School and went on to further her education at Mercy Hospital school of Nursing, graduating in 1953 as a Registered Nurse. Her nursing career began at Mercy Hospital in Springfield where she worked for 8 years. She then was employed for another 8 years at McNally Brothers Oral Surgeons in West Springfield and retired in 1989 after 10 years at Holyoke Soldiers Home. Janet was a compassionate caring person who was devoted to her family and was a great wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed for her wonderful sense of humor and her quick wit. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her cherished daughter, Mary Ann LeBlanc who passed in 2013; and her brother William P. Flaro who passed in 2006. She leaves her loving husband of 61 years, Charles Ainsworth Jr.; her son, Charles E. Ainsworth III and his wife Deborah of Springfield; her son-in-law, Ronald LeBlanc of Chicopee; her 4 grandchildren, Eddie, Angela, Sierra, and Heather; her great-grandson, Landon; and her sisters, June Tarnusser of Orlando, FL and Mary Hojnoski of South Hadley. Janet’s funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 23rd at 12:30PM in Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam followed by interment in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the funeral service from 10:30AM-12:30PM.
