Janet Buckingham

East Longmeadow – Janet Lee (Heyliger) Buckingham, 86, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away on November 26, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born in Springfield to the late Engle S. and Doris B. (Flanders) Heyliger. She was a 1949 graduate of Classical High School in Springfield. Janet and Charles L. Buckingham were married on November 22, 1952. She will be dearly missed by her children, John Buckingham and his partner Philip Clay of Worcester, MA, Laurie Harris and her husband Steven of Monson, MA, and Richard Buckingham and his wife Therese Perkins of Malden, MA; her 3 grandchildren, Kevin and his wife Amanda, Melissa, and Penelope; her 3 great-grandchildren, EmmaLee, Julia, and Connor. Janet was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Charles L. Buckingham; her daughter, Debra Bowker; and her brother, Donald E. Heyliger. Services will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations in Janet’s memory may be made to Dakin Humane Society, P. O. Box 6307, Springfield, MA 01101.
