Anne M. Houlihan

Anne M. Houlihan of Agawam passed away peacefully on May 29, 2020 a few weeks before her 102nd birthday, at Heritage Hall North in Agawam. Anne was born on June 20, 1918 in Springfield MA to the late Fortuna (Moccio) and Antonio Pellegrino. Anne will always be remembered as a very kind and generous lady. Anne was a graduate of Commerce High School and later worked as an Administrative Secretary at U.S. Envelope / Westvaco Co retiring at the age of seventy three. After retirement Anne spent many hours gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was an avid crossword puzzle solver and enjoyed her Friday luncheons with her many friends. In addition to her parents Anne was predeceased by her husband John J. Houlihan in 1997, her first husband Edward Bissell and four brothers and a sister. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Anne will be deeply missed by her niece Barbara Owczarski and Barbara’s children Lorelei, Christina and Francis who all were always there for “Cioci” Anne. Anne will also be sadly missed by her nephew Jeff Sullivan and his wife Lyn. Barbara and Jeff would like thank the staff at Heritage Hall North and Hospice of Western Mass for their support and care, especially during this difficult time when family were unable to be with Anne during her final hours. Family and friends are invited to a celebration of Anne’s life at St John the Evangelist Church, 833 Main St, Agawam on Wednesday, June 3, 2020 at 10:30 am. Burial will be private. Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home located at 985 Main Street, Agawam are in charge of the arrangements.
