Anne Marie Ranahan

LONGMEADOW – Anne Marie Ranahan, 65, passed away peacefully on December 6, 2018, while surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Springfield, MA on October 10, 1953 to the late Hans H. and Mary “Sis” (Carney) Tiedgen and was a lifelong resident of Longmeadow. She attended Regis College and then obtained her Associate’s Degree in Nursing from Springfield Technical Community College. For many years, Anne Marie had worked for Enfield Nursing Center and most currently, Mercy Hospital in the Clinical Research Department. Since childhood and into her adult life and marriage, Anne Marie loved vacationing in Eastham and enjoyed visiting Coast Guard Beach and Cape Cod. She also liked to do jigsaw puzzles. She will be remembered fondly by her family as being a wonderful mother, wife and friend. Besides her parents, Anne Marie is predeceased by her brother Thomas F. Tiedgen and is now reunited with her beloved dog, Murphy. To cherish her memory, she leaves her devoted husband, Robert P. Ranahan, Jr. of Longmeadow; her loving daughter Jennifer Orlando and her husband Chris of Boston, MA; mother-in-law Ann C. Ranahan of Longmeadow; sisters-in-law Susan Dukeshire and her husband Ken of Longmeadow and Judy Ranahan of Springfield; brother-in-law Jeffrey Ranahan of Boston as well as her nieces Erin and Sarah Dukeshire. Family and friends are invited to gather on Sunday, December 9, 2018 from 2-5 PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA. A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 10, 2018 at 10 AM at the funeral home followed by committal services at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
