Brian Gregory Freeman, 42, passed away peacefully at home on November 1, 2019 after a long illness. Brian was born in Springfield, MA on March 2, 1977 to James W. Freeman, Jr. and Brenda Elizabeth Gross (Gifford).
Brian was a 1999 graduate of River Street School in Windsor, CT and lived most of his life in Springfield. He worked at WOC (Work Opportunity Center) in Agawam, MA for many years and most recently attended the day program at Sunshine Village in Chicopee, MA. Brian was loving, smart and funny and loved joking around. He enjoyed traveling, camping, music concerts and events in the community. Brian was an active team member of the Greater Springfield Special Olympics, competing in bowling, track & field and bocce with his father.
In addition to his parents, Brian leaves behind his sister, Heather Monson (Daniel) of Longmeadow, MA; brother, Darren Freeman of Piscataway, NJ; nephews Austin and Drew Monson; and many beloved friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday (November 7, 2019) at Forastiere Smith Funeral and Cremation Services, 220 North Main Street, East Longmeadow, MA with Visitation from 5:00-7:00pm followed by the Memorial Service at 7:00pm.
