Dolores P. Crinella

Springfield – Dolores Pauline (Joseph) Crinella, 84, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, dear friend and colleague passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018. Dolores “Del” and her twin sister Duane “Dee” were the first-born children of Joseph and Dora (Susinetti) Joseph Jr. born on June 30, 1934. Dolores graduated from The High School of Commerce in 1952. She worked for the Springfield School Department since 1976 serving in various capacities assisting children. Beginning at Brightwood Elementary School and then Putnam Vocational High School. In 1986 Central High School became her home where she was the Principal Clerk under four administrators until she retired in July of 2018. In 2009 Central High School honored Dolores by dedicating the “Main Office” to her for her years of service. She was a greatly loved and respected member of the Central staff. Family traditions were very important to Dolores and she made the holidays special with her homemade Italian delicacies and cookies. She was a devout Catholic and a Communicant of Holy Cross Church. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband of 49 years, Frank A. Crinella Sr. who passed in 2009; and her brother-in-law, Louis Crinella. She leaves her children, Frank Crinella Jr. and his wife Lisa of East Longmeadow, and Catherine “Cathy” Roberts of Chicopee; her 5 grandchildren, Anthony, Joseph, Elise, Peter, and Frank III; sisters, Duane “Dee” Douglas of Denver, CO Patty Stevens and her husband George of Chicopee, and Rosemary Gossman and her husband Raymond of Springfield; and a brother, Joe Joseph Jr. of Hampden. Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, November 18th from 2-5PM at Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Dolores’s funeral service will be held on Monday, November 19th from the funeral home at 8:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass in Holy Cross Church, Springfield at 10AM. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers donation in Dolores’s memory may be made to Rays of Hope, 280 Chestnut St., 6th Floor, Springfield, MA 01199.
