Obituary

Edward Paul “Teddy” Woytowicz, Jr., 44, died peacefully on September 12, 2020 with his wife and close family by his side. Teddy was born in Springfield to the late Edward Paul and Marianne (MacFeat) Woytowicz. Along with his dear parents, Teddy was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Albert W. MacFeat, Jr. and his paternal grandparents Edward B. Woytowicz and Mary (Kaleel) Woytowicz. Teddy leaves behind his beloved wife of 20 years, Susan (Adams) Woytowicz and his adoring sons, Edward Paul (Tripp) 14, Quinn Thomas 11, and Maxx Bremen 7. Teddy met Susan at Cathedral High School, and they married soon after graduating college in September 2000 at St. Catherine’s of Siena Church in Springfield. Teddy began his married life working in the Boston area, and later moved back to the “413” to attend law school. After 12 wonderful years in East Longmeadow growing his family and career, Teddy settled in Longmeadow, providing a new home for his boys and their future. More than any accolades or awards, Teddy was most proud of his family. He was a loyal and steadfast son and brother, a devoted and doting husband and father, a generous and kind uncle and godfather, and a beloved grandson, nephew, son-in-law, brother-in-law, cousin, and friend to so many who loved him. Ask anyone about Teddy, and they all will say: “he was the best.” Along with Susan, Tripp, Quinn, and Maxx, Teddy is survived by his brother Joseph Woytowicz and his wife Katie (McMahon) of Wilbraham, his sister Kathleen (Woytowicz) Brenner and her husband William of Wilbraham, his maternal grandmother Kathleen (O’Hare) Benoit of Stafford Springs, his father-in-law Thomas William Adams Jr. and mother-in-law Kathy (Burke) Adams of Monson, his sister-in law Katie (Adams) Mitus and her husband Shane of Belchertown, his sister-in-law Elizabeth (Adams) Connelly and her husband Jared of Wellesley, his sister-in-law Molly Adams and her husband Alex Mautone of Stamford, CT. Uncle to eight nephews -- Sean Nichols, Brett Brenner, Timothy Mitus, William Mitus, Joseph Woytowicz, Patrick Connelly, Charles Mautone, and Arthur Connelly -- and seven nieces -- Casey Brenner, Hannah Mitus, Mary Woytowicz, Elizabeth Woytowicz, Sophia Mitus, Caroline Connelly, and Brenna Woytowicz -- Teddy’s memory will be forever honored and cherished. Raised in Springfield with his younger brother Joseph and sister Kathleen, Teddy graduated from Cathedral High School where he was captain of the baseball team. He went on to graduate from Suffield Academy and Springfield College, where he continued to play as a pitcher on the baseball team. Following his graduation from Springfield College, Teddy continued his education at Western New England School of Law School where he earned his Juris Doctorate. After law school, Teddy continued to build a successful management career in IT services. He was Vice President of the Northeast Region at FastSwitch at the time of his death. Hardworking and passionate about everything he did, parenting and mentoring his three boys were no exception. Teddy’s favorite things in life were coaching his sons in youth baseball and watching them play ice hockey. A lifelong fan of baseball, Teddy developed an interest in ice hockey from cheering on his sister-in-laws’ as they played in college, and his passion expanded as all three of his sons became more invested in the sport. Teddy connected with so many parents, coaches and players across both sports, and he leaves behind a legacy of integrity. Over the years, Teddy formed incredible friendships. His dependability, confidence and calm demeanor earned him the honor of officiating five weddings for family and friends. Throughout his life and leading up to his death, his friends and family provided much appreciated comfort, support and strength. Bernice Innarelli, Teddy’s paternal aunt, showed tremendous love and care for Teddy, and her presence in his life was a blessing. Teddy enjoyed playing golf and tennis at Longmeadow Country Club with his boys, sitting by the fire drinking IPAs, annually building a backyard rink for his kids, and visiting Nantucket with Susan. Through his actions and words, Teddy demonstrated the true meaning of hard work, optimism, and loyalty. Teddy loved his life and wanted nothing more.
