Jonathan J. Martinez Sr.

Jonathan Jamie Martinez, Sr., affectionately known as “Fat Boy,” “Smiley,” and “Nino,” will be remembered for his love for music, his wonderful sense of humor and ability to make everyone smile, and his appreciation for spending time with family. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin and friend. He enjoyed taking long drives, the beach and fishing.
Jonathan’s life was tragically taken on Monday, October 19, 2020. Born in Springfield, he attended Springfield Public Schools including Central High School. He is the son of Cinthya Rivera and Victor Martinez, Sr. Besides his parents, Jonathan is survived by his adored children, Johnathan J. Martinez, Jr. and Anezimae J. Martinez; his brothers, Victor Martinez, Jr. and Elijah Martinez; his sisters, Alize Martinez-Rivera and Yaneiry Ramirez-Rivera; his maternal grandmother Luz Rivera, paternal grandparents Gladys Feliciano and Jose Class; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and close friends. Jonathan was predeceased by his maternal grandfather Maximo Rivera. All services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
