Josephine Circosta

SPRINGFIELD Josephine (Giunta) Circosta ,90, Ascended Into the Journey of Everlasting Life, on May 14th, 2018; at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Gerace, Calabria, Italy daughter of the late Carmello and Carmella (Macri) Giunta; she was a Springfield resident for over 70 years. Josephine was the wife of the late Salvatore “Sam” S. Circosta; he passed away in 1980. Josephine was a loving , kind, generous wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a woman of great faith. She was strong, feisty and had a wonderful sense of humor. Josephine loved and took great pleasure in cooking for her family. It was her passion. It filled her heart with joy to have her family around the dinner table. Her house was filled with love and laughter.
She leaves 2 sons, Anthony Circosta and his wife Dianna, Salvatore O. Circosta and his wife, Luanne all of Springfield; a daughter Catherine Halon and her husband Keith, of Florida; 10 grandchildren, Anthony Circosta, Adam Circosta, Melanie Knapik, Heather Mas, Keith Halon, Paul Halon, Salvatore Circosta, Gina Circosta, Alicia Circosta, Jennifer Leshinski ; 18 great grandchildren. Josephine also leaves a large family all of Italy. She was predeceased by a great granddaughter Jezabelle. A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:00AM, on Friday (May18th,2018) in Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 123 William St., Springfield. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
