EAST LONGMEADOW- Michael Anthony Torcia, 83, passed away at his home on September 19, 2019, while surrounded by his loving family. Michael was born in Herkimer, New York to the late Michael and Anna (Curto) Torcia. He was a 1953 graduate of The High School of Commerce. Michael went on to work for John Hancock, Iron Workers Local 357, and later went on to own Elsies Café, as well as owning and founding Fat Cat Bar & Grill and Torcia & Sons Builders. He was a longtime member of the Italian American Sisto Lombardi Club in East Longmeadow. To cherish his memory he leaves his three sons Michael F. Torcia and his significant other Tina Bournique, Richard J. Torcia and his partner Gary Daula, and Joseph A. Torcia and his former wife Rebecca; loving grandchildren Michael, Amanda, Jonathan, and Nicholas; and brother Francis Torcia. In addition to his parents Michael was predeceased by the love of his life Conchetta (Giuggio) Torcia; and his sister Phyllis Santaniello. Visiting hours for Michael will take place on Tuesday, September 24 from 10:30AM-12PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 N. Main St., East Longmeadow with a funeral home service beginning at 12PM. Burial with military honors will follow at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main St., Agawam.
