1942 - 2019
Feeding Hills – Nancy J. (Mitton) Jarvis, 77, died September 16, 2019 surrounded by loved ones. Born on August 25, 1942 in Clinton MA to the late Merle and Esther (Walsh) Mitton. Nancy graduated from Clinton High School and worked at Baybank, then Bank of Western Massachusetts, until her retirement. Nancy loved to travel and spend time with family and friends. She especially loved luncheons, backyard picnics and visits to Clinton. She leaves her devoted husband of 51 years Derek “Dan” Jarvis of Feeding Hills; sons Stephen and his wife Carolyn of Westfield MA and Christopher and his partner Kristan of Frederick MD; her grandchildren Zachary, Hannah, Brennan, Connor, Ashley and Emerson; sisters Shirley Hendrickson of Clinton and Judith Collins of Lancaster as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved as her own. Nancy was C.E.O.S. (Chief Executive Officer of Spoiling) at “Nanaland”, where ice cream, candy and the quarter game were always on the agenda and the word “no” was never heard. Calling hours will be held on Friday September 20, 2019 from 11:30am-1:00pm in the Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home 985 Main Street, Agawam MA. A funeral service will follow at 1:00pm. Burial will be in the Springfield Street Cemetery, Agawam. In lieu of flowers and lamps, memorial contributions made in Nancy’s name may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104.
