Rena M. Sheets

East Longmeadow – Rena Marie (Mastrangelo) Sheets, 89, of East Longmeadow, passed away Thursday February 8th at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield to the late Ralph and Adeline (Lalli) Mastrangelo, she was a 1946 graduate of the High School of Commerce. Throughout her career, Rena was employed as an office clerk at various places, including Mass Mutual, Birchland School, Shawmut Bank and Steiger’s Department Store, retiring in 1995. She was a longtime communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Springfield and was happiest when she was spending time with her loving family. She will be dearly missed by her three sons, David Sheets and his wife Kathleen, Robert Sheets and his wife Diane, all of East Longmeadow and William Sheets and his wife Shannon of Springfield; her four grandchildren who she adored, Adam, Leah, Jessica and Nicholas and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 32 years, Richard D. Sheets in 1988; her brother, Francis Mastrangelo and two sisters, Lydia Martin and Loretta Troiano. Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Tuesday February 13th from 4 – 7 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Rena’s funeral ceremony will be held on Wednesday February 14th at 11 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield.
