Richard A. Noyes

Richard A. Noyes, 86, passed away peacefully Friday, December 6, 2019. He was born and grew up in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield, MA and was a son to the late Ernest E. and Grace (Fairbanks) Noyes. He served his country proudly with the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953-55. He was a member of the Liberty United Methodist Church in Springfield, and once married, transferred to the Agawam United Methodist church where he was an usher on Sunday mornings and served on the Board of Trustees. Richard worked as an electrician and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local #7 for more than 60 years. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards with his family and friends. His greatest joy was spending time with his beloved wife, Norma (Noble) Noyes to whom he was married for more than 55 years. In retirement, they traveled together every year to places including Florida, Las Vegas, Bermuda and the Bahamas. In addition to his wife, Richard leaves two children Richard E. Noyes of Reston, VA and Cynthia M. Noyes of Lebanon, CT; many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Ernest Noyes; and his sisters Marion Hageman and Barbara Gardner. A calling hour for Richard will be held on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 9-10AM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam with a funeral service beginning at 10AM. Interment will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Richard’s name to Baystate VNA & Hospice, 280 Chestnut St., 6th Fl., Springfield, MA 01199.
