Richard Tremblay

EAST LONGMEADOW- Richard F. “Rick” Tremblay, 70, passed away at home on June 17, 2019. Rick was born in Holyoke on May 8, 1949 to the late Raymond and Anita (Lemieux) Tremblay. Rick proudly obtained his associates degree from STCC. He was known for his good nature, great sense of humor, and his strong love for his family and friends. Rick enjoyed fishing, hunting, and woodworking, and could often be found at the Quabbin Reservoir or at the YMCA. To cherish his memory Rick leaves his wife of 36 years, Patty (Laux) Tremblay; his sons Todd Tremblay and his wife Marybeth of Charlton, MA, and Michael Tremblay and his wife Jody of Palmer, MA; his daughter Nicole Tremblay; grandchildren Collin, Ethan, and Kylie Tremblay; his siblings Clifford Tremblay, Norman Tremblay, Annette Meade, Suzanne Brueno, Michele Roy, Rhea Marschall, and Paula Johnson; and many other cherished relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents as well as his siblings Steven Tremblay, Jean Garrow, Barbara Tremblay, and Diane Johnson. Friends and family are invited to gather on Friday, June 21 from 4:00PM-7:00PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St, East Longmeadow. A funeral service for Rick will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2019 beginning at 8:45AM from the funeral home, with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00AM at St. Michael’s Parish, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Rick’s memory to Baystate VNA & Hospice 50 Maple Street, Springfield, MA 01102.
