Shannon M. Godbout

Springfield - Shannon Marie (Murry) Godbout, 39, beloved fiancé, mother, daughter, granddaughter, sister and aunt passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 15, 2018. She was born in Springfield, the daughter of Frank and Linda (Gaudreault) Menard. Shannon graduated from Cathedral High School in 1996, attended Holyoke Community College and was presently a student at Porter and Chester Institute studying to be an electrician. She loved animals and enjoyed traveling and taking long drives. Shannon lit up our lives with her lively personality and especially her big heart. She was a wonderful mom and always tried to help everyone. She will be greatly missed for her warm hugs and the joy she gave us. She leaves her loving fiancé, James Philpott of Springfield; her son, Nicholas Godbout of Feeding Hills; her daughters, Gabrielle Godbout of Ludlow, Ashley Philpott of Springfield, and Courtney Philpott of Ludlow; her parents, Frank and Linda Menard of Feeding Hills; her grandparents, Gaston and Solange Gaudreault; her Sister, Tracy Dale and her husband Shawn of Southampton; and her brother, Marc Menard of Agawam; her niece and nephews, Kyle and Breanna Dale, and Silas Ladon Menard; and her former husband, Peter Godbout of Ludlow. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, June 25th from 4-8PM at Colonial Forastiere Funeral Home, 985 Main St., Agawam. Shannon’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 26th from the funeral home at 8:30AM followed by a Funeral Mass at Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut St., Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Rose De Lima Cemetery, Chicopee.
