Gordon Campbell Stewart

Springfield - Gordon C. Stewart, 27, passed away unexpectedly at home on January 11th in Springfield, Massachusetts. He was born in Springfield at Wesson Women’s Hospital on July 4th 1990 to Michael C. Stewart and Deborah L. Hamilton. He leaves behind his parents, two brothers, Michael L. Stewart and Shaun F. Stewart; grandfather, Neal B. Hamilton, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was pre-deceased by his maternal grandmother, Lela Hamilton and by his paternal grandparents, Margaret and Russell Stewart. Gordon was raised in East Longmeadow, Massachusetts and spent every summer since infancy at his beloved Roy Carpenter’s Beach in Matunuck, Rhode Island. Gordon (Don, Donny, Gordy, Donny Boy) spent seven summers protecting his beach family as a lifeguard at RCB. Gordon’s contagious laugh and infectious smile will never leave the hearts of those he touched. He also enjoyed snowboarding, surfing, golfing, dancing, and being the brightest light at any party. Gordon was a long-time employee at Sullivan Paper Company with his father Michael and will be greatly missed. He had a kind heart, gentle soul, and was a lover of all people and animals. Family and friends are invited to meet for calling hours on Friday January 19th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Forastiere Smith Funeral Home, 220 North Main St., East Longmeadow. Gordon’s Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday January 20th at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Burial will be private for the family at a later date.
